A raw Kery James for the first single from "J'rap encore" scheduled for November....

Kery James had announced through his networks the arrival of a new album and his first single in June. It is with Kalash Criminel that the artist now presents PDM, a very committed song that echoes statements made by Donald Trump in early 2018.

What is the PDM?

For his big comeback, Alix Mathurin aka Kery James chose a strong title and a guest of the new generation already very important for the French rap scene: Kalash Criminel. A connection that is not necessarily expected, but which makes sense when you consider the commitment shown by Kery James in his music, and the politicization of some of Kalash Crimi''s lyrics, especially concerning the fate of Africa. In January, US President Donald Trump called Haiti and African nations a "shitty country". Kery James therefore offers an acidic response to this shameful statement, with the talent of a lyricist we know him, on a production heated to white and supported by the gimmicks of Kalash Criminal. In a video clip directed by Leila Sy and Shems Cameron, the Haitian-born artist denounces the racist excesses of Trump's politics and the overly broad influence of the world's leading power. Supported by reconstructions, the visual illustrates with violence the no less violent reality that has affected and still affects some peoples under the yoke of the United States.

"Adama Traoré, Zyed and Bouna, how far do we follow the Americans, we go back, what is the country of shit?"

"I rap again" will be released on November 9th

Kery James is the kind of artist who can afford not to make any musical compromises. After taking to the stage for a play about the French Republic, the rapper made a smashing solo comeback with the politicized PDM. A song that is therefore the very first single from a seventh album to be released on November 9. As announced a few months ago, the artist will also perform on stage on December 8 at the Zénith in La Villette. A real stage animal, the show should have its share of surprises, judging by Kery's previous scenographies, especially when he had defended his previous album Mouhammad Alix released in 2016.
